Post photo: Album cover Tubular Bells (1973)
When I saw this piece of music from Mike Oldfield Around 1974 I heard it for the first time, I was immediately sure that I had this LP absolutely must own; which was a serious and also long-term decision with the pocket money that I saw at my disposal at the time.
And also in 1992, when Tubular Bells II was released, I grabbed it immediately - but this time for a CD - just like in 1998 with the release of Tubular Bells III.
First with The Millennium Bell In 1999 I became a little more cautious and waited a little longer before deciding to buy.
In 2003, however, I had to take it again immediately and bought the new recording of tubular bells (2003), but now again with Sally Oldfield as background voice.
Better than all his records put together Mike Oldfields live performances.
Played on September 4, 1992 Mike Oldfield with a large orchestra including fireworks for the first time Tubular Bells II and this in front of the castle in Edinburgh.
On September 4th, 1998 there was the world premiere of Tubular Bells III at Horse Guards Parade in London and I was blown away again. And to this day I still can't get enough of his live performances, even though I have to watch most of them afterwards.
His Millennium Bell then premiered in Berlin on New Year's Eve 1999, although to this day I still don't quite understand the setting and the deeper background.
At the end of the article I would like to leave the BBC and Mike Oldfield speak for yourself.
