Whether alone, with your better half or with friends, a visit to a good bar, café or nightclub is always the right decision.

It is probably more difficult to find such a place. The important thing is that you don't regret the time you spent there afterwards.

I have very fond memories of my visits with comrades and colleagues, e.g. B. in the Hemingway in Paris, in the Monk in Brussels or in the M&M in Hanover.

But in the end I was always looking for that one place, as seen so beautifully in the film Casablanca, namely Rick's Café Américain.

And how says Humphrey Bogart as a Rick Blaine so beautiful?

"Here's looking at you, kid."

In any case, the film Casablanca is always worth seeing and today it even brings such a place directly into the living room of the viewer.

And when you look at the following scene, many would like to sit down at the piano again.

Dooley Wilson, music and lyrics by Herman Hupfeld (1931)

All in all, Casablanca is a very successful film that you can watch more than once.

And who knows, maybe someone will know the right place just around the corner and find the opportunity to spend a pleasant evening there alone, with your better half or with friends.

And who knows, maybe one day you can say the following.

"Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

Rick Blaine, Casablanca 1942
Humphrey Bogart with Claude Rains

"Only solitary men know the full joys of friendship. Others have their families; but to a solitary and an exile, his friends are everything."

Willa Cather, Shadows on the Rock (2021 [1931]: 73)
