It took a little over a month before the preliminaries were settled. But on Whit Monday, June 8, 1992, the time had come and we exchanged vows.
We spent most of our time together on the squash court or on the running track, which probably accelerated the negotiations a bit. By the way, I was proving a theory from the 1980s, namely that there can be no successful and efficient negotiation rounds if there is no opportunity for sporting activities.
The further negotiations then dragged on a bit because we, both working, were less able to reconcile the necessary follow-up appointments. And finally, we had to find a common date for the honeymoon, which should also be as close as possible to the wedding day.
