Anyone who still has all their marbles and can walk should leave the Eastern Zone as quickly as possible. We must finally write off the 30 years of transfer payments and reconstruction aid as sunk costs and save what can still be saved.
Anyone who still invests in the new federal states cannot be helped and should in principle be regarded as fully capable of doing business.
In the best case scenario, we can keep the Ossiland as a buffer zone against future threats from the east. If we are smart, we will use these federal states as compensatory areas and renaturalize the whole thing wherever we can.
And so that the last remaining East Germans don't go over to the West, we continue to beautify the villages and small towns and send them a constant supply of welfare, vodka and porn films. And ideally, we also send them any Nazi and GDR memorabilia we can find here.
If we're really clever, we'll put a fence around it and sell tickets. It'll be the biggest tourist attraction in the world! — that's worked quite well before.

I chose the term “Ossiland” based on an old children’s song. Sociologists today would rather describe the new federal states as “sundown states”.
