The album by Leonard Cohen I bought the album called "Old Ideas" (2012) on a car journey, and it was an MP3 version at that, and so my better half had to listen to the album twice by the end of the journey. After that, I could only listen to it when I was out with the dog - we happened to have the same taste in music.
However, this week's music video comes from his album "Various Positions" from 1984 and was already his seventh album. In addition to the song "Dance Me to the End of Love", which you will hear here, "Hallelujah" is also probably well known.
Most readers will Leonard Cohens song “Suzanne”, which he already recorded in 1967 on his debut album “Songs of Leonard Cohen“. Interestingly, he first published it as poem 1966 and then first published by judy collins was set to music as a song. Incidentally, he was accompanied by the dancer Suzanne Verdal inspired.
But to this day, “Old Ideas” is my favorite Cohen record.
