Just rediscovered, the musicians from Foyer des Arts. Today's song can be found on the album "The Inability to Have Breakfast" (1986) and is called "Moldy Bread".

To help you understand the whole thing a little better, here are the lyrics.

Moldy bread

An election campaign poster. A statesman of stature tempts me, tempts me, but no: in his hand he is unfortunately holding a moldy loaf of bread.

A TV quiz with verve and pizzazz tempts me, tempts me, but no: unfortunately the only thing to win is a moldy loaf of bread.

Moldy bread often spoils friends.
Moldy bread spoils the fun.
Moldy bread is rarely beneficial.

Big bang. A car accident tempts me, tempts me, but no: instead of blood, unfortunately, all you see is moldy bread.

A Spanish Marquesa named Theresa tempts me, tempts me, but no: unfortunately she has a moldy bread in her mouth.

Moldy bread often spoils friends.
Moldy bread spoils the fun.
Moldy bread is rarely beneficial.

A wave of contempt roars in the sunset.
A fountain of despair spews angry slogans.
Anger is boiling in the crater of society:

We don’t like moldy bread!

Foyer of the Arts

Attentive readers will surely find the connection.

Max Goldt and Gerd Pasemann The band was founded in 1981 in West Berlin and lasted quite a long time as a New German Wave band, only saying goodbye in 1995 with their album “Die Menschen”.

And while I'm at it, there's also an encore, which has another very interesting city as its theme. And with that, Foyer des Arts has probably landed their biggest hit.

Rizzi would have sold the song to us in Heilbronn straight away.
