Featured photo: two social media accounts

While things are really crashing around the world, many of us are debating which Twitter is better. I quickly deleted my Mastodon account, and now I have to Detlef Stern notice that there are even more schoolmasters out there than usual on social media.

I'm currently still using the Twitter successor "X", which is currently from Elon Musk is being converted into an all-purpose weapon and now also serves as a telephone. This immediately led me to update my long-standing Skype account, where I discovered that... Skype or Whatsapp continues to work quite well. The problem with Skype is that very few of my friends and acquaintances are there.

I've been using it since September Bluesky and am pleased to note that it reminds me of the early years of Twitter remembered, which is not surprising since its boss is the old one from Twitter. With both Bluebyte and “X” the so-called reach is increasingly important these days and I can’t really score points with either social media; I still have 78 followers at “X” and just 17 at Bluebyte.

The actual problem probably lies with social media itself, because it simply no longer meets the expectations of a normal blogger like me. At first I thought microblogging was a nice addition to my own blog and was also able to exchange ideas with other bloggers there. The noise around it was so annoying that I kept taking a break.

In the meantime, however, it seems that the focus of microblogging services has changed completely to the detriment of ordinary bloggers and now focuses on completely different target groups, who probably have no interest in actual blogging.

At the moment it looks like this: I don't have the reach to promote my blog posts, I prefer to have sensible conversations on Threema, Skype, Delta Chat or in the good old forums and I prefer to get my information about new things from a wide variety of media via RSS or newsletter than via social media. So I'm excited to see how social media develops for me.

My health is improving again and I was able to go for a little walk today. I was almost run over by overzealous police officers on the Neckar Mile. If our public order office employees were half as diligent, then we wouldn't have to fight through all kinds of vehicles in the pedestrian zones or constantly avoid cars on the sidewalks.

The short discussion on Kaiserstrasse between a city bus driver and an S-Bahn driver about who has to avoid whom was pleasing. Until today I thought it was settled.

I have another tip for my readers. Not only can you avoid unsightly blockages on the avenue using the alleys and streets of the pedestrian zone, but if you also take Berliner Platz with Turmstrasse as an extension, you can easily take a shortcut in the northern part of the city center.

If you combine these paths with the Neckar Mile and also include the Kaufhof underground car park (the passage costs nothing), you can easily reach every coffee shop and shop in Heilbronn's pedestrian zone by car and also pay no parking fees.

And if a pedestrian ever complains, you tell them that you know the mayor very well.

And once we get to the SPD, then I too congratulate the Putin whisperer and sellout Gerhard Schroeder for 60 years of membership in the Social Democrats.
