Constitution for the federal European Union (The Federated States of Europe)

Page 1 from 5Next

In order to promote European peace, prosperity and precious diversity, a different political system is urgently needed: a federal Europe, based on a democratic federal constitution instead of ineffective and weak intergovernmental treaties.

The Operation 'Federal European Constitution' of the Federal Alliance of European Federalists (FAEF) is currently the only European project aiming to achieve this. Since October 2021, the FAEF Citizens' Convention has been working on a ten-article federal constitution for Europe, to put an end to the countless failed attempts since 1800 to federalize Europe. We apply a scientific approach. This has been lacking until now. That is why Europe is still without a common foreign policy and a common defense system.

The European Federal Constitution will be ready in a few weeks. But the current progress is so interesting that we want to share an interim result with the outside world: it is unique, gives courage, is forward-looking, connects, activates and is truly democratic. Based on 'lessons learned', scientific and realistic. Visit our website to get access to the interim result: https://www.faef.eu/en_gb/operation-fec/

Javier asked me to change “Constitution for the federal European Union” to “The Federated States of Europe”. I hope I was able to make the whole thing more understandable by using the bracket variant.

Finally I would like the name: Federal Constitution for the European Union

switch to > The Federated States of Europe (see appendix)

Here, around 60 federalists are taking the trouble to write a draft constitution for a European federal state. In any case, this is a very interesting topic to deal with Europe. And just as it was at the 5th Hertenstein Talks 2021 from Lars Becker has already been worked out, it is a good opportunity to get people interested in a common Europe simply by advertising this draft.

So this work has two good aspects. However, those involved should, including are also Javier Giner and I -- but more in an observing role -- be aware that this draft constitution, even if it turns out to be the best of its kind so far, can only be a further thought-provoking impulse for a constitutional convention that is still to be created.

And as soon as we European federalists in the European Union bring together a corresponding majority, we must convene such a constitutional convention as quickly as possible.

So far we have always assumed that we will ultimately win with our staying power. At the moment, however, it seems that not only Europe, but the entire free world has already lost out against the revival of totalitarianism worldwide.

Dear Henry,

Since 1988 I have been fighting together with my colleagues from the "Union european strip Mallorca” for a federal constitution for Europe.

We have gone through many collaborations with other pro-federalist or pro-European organizations, but never before has there been a federation of organizations for a federal Europe. Now she is debating the constitution of the federal European Union with the FAEF and its 70-strong citizens' convention.

This constitution will be ready at the end of June and will be sent to all the European institutions and all the states of Europe so that they can submit to a referendum in their respective states. The states that vote for it will be the founders of the United States of Europe. Those who vote against can join in the future.

The UEF has failed in 70 years to promote a citizens' convention for a federal constitution, not even in the agreements of the UEF federal committee in Madrid in 2017, which called for a change in the treaties to implement a federal constitution.

Therefore, the future of UEF looks very bad, so it would be better to think about the EU-Germany regional associations. It would probably be an opportunity to start with EU-Heilbronn proclaiming a citizens' convention or joining the FAEF federation. I am convinced that following Heilbronn's example would be a turning point for other regions

I want to be wrong because it would be a great event to put 2 federal constitutions in a referendum for the citizens to decide which of the 2 will be elected.

Therefore, I understand that as a member of EU-Heilbronn, I am obliged to present the FAEF constitution to the members of EU-Heilbronn so that they can present their ideas for this constitution during the convening of the UEF Citizens' Convention by FAEF can contribute.

I ask you Your Assistance in drafting amendments to send to the FAEF Citizens' Convention at the following email address: citizenconvention@faef.eu

or those who are members of this convention participate directly

Today I leave here the preamble:

As Javier already said, the idea of promoting our European federal state with a draft constitution is a good one and is also undisputed within the UEF. As the EUHN, we have also been promoting participation in the draft constitution since the 5th Hertenstein Talks among the participants and among our own members.

We also disagree that most of us are not convinced that UEF is dead and that we therefore need a new organization.

It is therefore of no use that the EUHN joins the FAEF or that the FAEF signs the draft constitution. Do you assume that this draft will be signed by at least a few EU member states? --- I just hope you won't be disappointed if it doesn't work out. I also hope that you won't stop in frustration from promoting our common Europe.

Because I've also been fighting for a European federal state for a little longer, I've been trying for months to protect you from too great a disappointment.

The idea of you is quite good to post the progress of your work here. And maybe you still remember that it dr Leo Klinkers has refused that we do extra advertising for Heilbronner; he still assumes that the draft constitution will be a sure-fire success.

Dear Heinrich,

I understand that when EUHN is a member of FAEF it serves as an example for other sections of EUD and UEF. The constitution issued by the FAEF-sponsored Citizens' Convention is ratified by the Convention's members. Then it will be handed over to all the governments of the European states and the national and regional parliaments so that they can submit it to a referendum in their respective states. Then, with only 3 states or more having ratified the Constitution, the United States of Europe will be formed with the Federal Constitution ratified in a referendum by the citizens of the member states of the federation.

Although not many states are the founders of the federation, I will not be frustrated but rather motivated to keep fighting for many more states to become part of the European federation in the near future. After more than 30 years, my mind is already able to see the future of Europe in the present. So I have already mapped out the path to success.

Thank you that this forum allows more European citizens to read the draft Constitution for the future federal Europe every day.

Dear federalists,

Europe urgently needs a constitution for the Federal European Union.

Question to Mr. Xiang: Don't you think that the Europeans are suffering more from the consequences of the war than the US?
Answer: I think so, and that the Europeans will be badly damaged if it takes longer.

See below an interview with Mr. Lanxin Xiang, Geostrategy; heads the Shanghai Institute of Security Policy.
"The world is not divided between democracies and authoritarianism, but between civilizations that dialogue & or destroy each other"

Dear Javier,

Russian war propaganda doesn't come true by posting the lies over and over again. Please stay with the draft constitution in this post.

And I would like to reiterate that NATO is a defensive alliance and everyone who has wanted to join has had, and still has, very valid reasons to do so.

All those who are still against NATO's eastward expansion are no better than the Russian mass murderers who slaughter children and women without inhibitions. But this has never stopped socialists from imposing their ideology on other people.

Thank you Javier for tirelessly hiring. We can only hope that as many people as possible will take a closer look at these designs.

I'm already looking forward to what will be presented as a complete package at the end.

  • Addition: Inflation is stronger than before the euro?

No. The euro has been around for 25 years. On average, the Eurosystem (ECB + national central banks) achieved the inflation target significantly better between 1999 and 2020 than was the case before. The phase of current inflation as a result of the Corona crisis and the supply bottlenecks and the energy crisis has driven up prices worldwide in 2021 and 2022. Inflation has been falling continuously since the end of 2022 and is approaching 2% again.
In addition, the common currency has given Europe stability in various crises.
The common currency supports the domestic market and has helped Germany achieve strong export performance.

  • I would like to add to the minutes of the “Europe Now!” discussion group that we participants also debated how “natural” Europe has become, especially for us younger people. Many of us don't know any different. Travel without borders, pay in euros, no customs fees when shopping online, we hardly know any other way. It is important to demonstrate these freedoms in order to arouse interest in Europe.
Likewise, the majority of the group agreed that we are not afraid, but rather feel concern and uncertainty when we observe current developments.

    • As we were able to determine, the half-life of such rounds is not sufficient to fill a forum even remotely. Where non-binding has become a principle, you really have to think about completely new communication channels.
