The curse of monotony – Urban development (last accessed on May 20.5.2024, 14.29, XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.)

“The city center has no longer served its purpose as a pure shopping and dining area. Can it be reinvented? …

The central question is how cities can get access to the areas that retailers are giving up. It has been shown that wherever the cities have played a decisive role, the conversion and redevelopment of abandoned commercial buildings has been successful, says Bernd Düsterdiek, Head of Urban Development at the German Association of Cities and Municipalities.”

Very worth reading article by Birgit Ochs! Using the Heilbronn Wollhaus example, we can clearly see how the city administration and local council continue to move in the wrong direction.

Even the new private concept, which has since been so praised by the mayor and is quite attractive, seems to be just another pipe dream.

That's why I'm coming back to my idea of developing the Wollhaus area in terms of urban development and am once again calling for a modern bus station with a light rail connection and a large event hall on the area, which will become the southern magnet of the city center. And when we talk about urban planning, a second, much-needed city swimming pool also fits there. And apartments on top of that - buildings with a height of more than 100 meters can be quiet in a big city.
