What is a blog?

Probably the first blog, a short form of the word weblog, which is a combination of the words "web" and "log", is the website of the software developer Tim Berners-Lee view, which went online on November 13, 1990 and was later referred to as a weblog. This first blog was used by Berners-Lee to encourage the exchange of information between scientists at the European Nuclear Research Center CERN to design better. Since 2018, some have therefore been celebrating “Blogging Day” every year on November 13th.

Meanwhile, microblog services, such as Twitter, many blogs have been repressed, so that it is becoming increasingly difficult, at least for me, to find new blogs or to access well-known ones. In Heilbronn, too, a number of blogs have already disappeared, which I enjoyed accessing regularly.

Heiner Dorner

My own blog posts can be traced back to 2005, but that doesn't mean I'm one of the oldest bloggers, because I'm a former city councillor Heiner Dorner has been writing a blog that is still very relevant today, at least since his retirement, whereby he has now devoted himself primarily to wind energy.

Detlef Stern

Detlef Sterns Blog entries can be traced back to April 2006, although I'm pretty sure that, as a professor for project management, electronic business and software development at the Heilbronn University and "Internet guru", he could certainly pull even older posts out of a hat.

The nice thing about his contributions is that he looks at Heilbronn from a slightly different perspective, because, coming from the big city of Hamburg, he can look at things differently than the "Heilbronn natives". And the really good thing about it is that he now also feels at home in Heilbronn, even though he is regularly drawn to the Black Forest.

Thomas Michl

going in a completely different direction Thomas Michl with his thought blog, which he has now expanded into a very well-founded source of information on topics that have a strong impact on management, leadership, agile or administration. I like his “flashes of inspiration” best and I also get them regularly in my digital inbox via his newsletter.

Sabine Stern

I'm also looking for more blogs from Heilbronn Sabine Sterns blog Hello Calotta encountered, which has had little stories and interesting things to offer since 2018.

Catherine Lehr

People who like to travel from Heilbronn certainly know Catherine Lehrs travel blog A lot on the way, which started in August 2013 as a personal travel blog and now has many practical travel tips that Catherine Lehr and their friends have gathered. I like the statement: “The world is my home!” one of the best.

Gerd M. Hofmann

And if you like cycling in Heilbronn, you can do it for yourself Gerd M. Hofmann a private and above all independent blog called Cycling in HeilbronN.

Matthew Driver

Pfarrer runs another type of weblog Matthew Driver, who wrote on his blog “Sunday thoughts“, whose texts and thoughts from biblical times relate to today’s experiences, making freedom and love his focus.

"Blogging is like work, but without coworkers thwarting you at every turn."
