No, this association is not appropriate at all! And so I was able to learn recently that no municipal council should be disadvantaged by doing this honorary post. A matter of course that I would still subscribe to today; Until 2017, I even believed that all of our honorary posts were purely voluntary. In the meantime, however, I find it a bit strange when honorary posts not only secure the livelihood of some holders, but also offer them the greatest possible opportunities for entrepreneurial profit maximization.

And it would be so simple that one would not have to ask the local council politely, as I did, who has now had all this explained in great detail, but that it is good manners - I certainly don't dare speak of the law - that there is the greatest possible transparency in all public affairs.

It would not be a problem to make a separate list for each municipal council and put it on the municipal website, where it is listed monthly how much they receive in expense allowances and other donations that they receive for their office and for other supervisory board mandates associated with this office, professorial and receives consulting activities; and this calculated down to the last cent for better understanding.

In addition, the real estate transactions that the municipal councils conduct with the city and its companies would also have to be listed on a monthly basis. Even if a local council does other business and transactions with the city government and their companies, these would also have to be listed on a monthly basis.

This means that there are no false assumptions, claims or even misunderstandings right from the start. And so that our people's representatives are completely on the safe side, one would have to include first-degree family members.

This eliminates such misunderstandings as e.g. B. that, whereby a child of a municipal council recently could acquire a Heilbronn prime property cleared out. This kid just bid the most when bidding. And anyone who is interested in prime properties in Heilbronn should have known that this piece was thrown onto the market.

And if a municipal council is awarded the contract for a plot of land in the Neckar bend in an international tender, that is also only because it simply submitted the best concept from all the bidders — at least in the opinion of its fellow councillors, who were the decisive ones. But as a voter, you can ask yourself what a professional politician can still do in parliament if he is so successful with several companies at the same time and is so successful internationally.

If you know the background, the fact that a municipal council was able to acquire a larger building in Heilbronn is only due to the fact that this one also offered the most and this even against serious competition. So everything is fine here too. And the fact that the city then rented this building and thus ensured that there is no such thing as an entrepreneurial risk for this municipal council is pure coincidence. And no one can do anything for coincidences!

As you can see, everything can be explained, so I'm glad I did my own research, because otherwise stories like the three that just happened to be mentioned here would perhaps make us citizens doubt the good intentions of many of our local councillors.
