It's amazing what still has to happen in our country today that professional politicians even take their hats off. Heavy losses in regional elections, as is currently the case in the United Kingdom, or even a defeat in state elections, as was the case here recently, are no longer a reason for resignation.
And anyone who believes that fraud, lies about parties (Partygate affair) or even the obstruction of police investigations are a valid reason can now convince themselves that this is no longer sufficient justification either.
Even if the citizens ultimately take the decision and vote out a Member of Parliament directly, that doesn't help much anymore, because then it can happen that the person concerned is simply reinstated as a minister.
So now I'm really excited to see what's going to happen after the "rough night" in the UK? For us, on the other hand, nothing will definitely change.
hanseatic city
Thanks to yesterday's lecture by Valentine Weber, a native of Lübeck, I finally know for sure that Heilbronn, despite the license plate number, is not a Hanseatic city, not even a former one. Perhaps that is also the real reason why the Hanse no longer exists today?
In any case, it was Valentine Webers lecture was not only very informative and insightful, but his conclusions for the European Union were also absolutely correct. Unfortunately, he was unable to explain why of the last three remaining Hanseatic cities of Lübeck, Hamburg and Bremen, only the latter two remained "free cities" — even if they may have overreached themselves completely.
And maybe there will soon be a speaker who can compare the former Hanseatic cities with the former free imperial cities; Heilbronn would definitely be there. So it remains very exciting! That's why I'm looking forward to the upcoming lectures, among other things.
