Environment & Parliament

Not only is the groundwater declining in Baden-Württemberg, even the loss of forests and species has reached unprecedented proportions. It would certainly be a good idea next time to vote for parties that actually care about people, nature and the environment.

In any case, it is true that we in Baden-Württemberg cannot save the world, but we could certainly do our part. And I think that would be a good start.

However, the actual focus of our state government, as has already been successfully practiced in the Bundestag, is to bring the Baden-Württemberg state parliament to a level that will do credit to the Chinese People's Congress - resistance from the other parties will probably only be pure remain a matter of form.

But what does both have to do with each other?

In my opinion, it shows quite well what is now the original goal of most of the parties represented in the state parliament, which have now become pure interest groups of their party members, in order to bring them solely to the best fodder pots. And since there is no longer any kind of “selection from the best” in the relevant parties, the number of fodder pots has to be increased as a logical consequence.

And anyone who has set such a political focus as a party or coalition cannot also govern the country or even save the environment - you cannot want everything at once!

Expo 2020,

Now many state politicians are rushing to cancel their trips to Dubai or to announce that they never intended to fly to Dubai themselves.

I would be very surprised if this Dubai action was just a €20 million pipe dream by the Minister for Economic Affairs and a lone crypto-fascist [I just like that term and have been waiting a long time to be able to use it; in this case it is more likely to be a crypto-Nazi].

In any case, we citizens have probably spoiled our state politicians from a vacation trip, and I am now wondering where our state government will spend the winter this year? — Based on the tanning factor of the individual members of the government, we can then speculate together in the spring.

Taxes

Federal politicians are currently arguing about whether more taxes can be imposed on us citizens. It should be noted that it is precisely the small and medium-sized businesses — on which the German economy is still based — that pay the most taxes and will hardly be able to continue to be milked.

If you now take into account that our governments throw away hundreds of billions of taxpayers' money every year just like that, or even for purely selfish reasons, it would only be logical to first form governments that handle our taxpayers' money responsibly can and then do before we citizens are further fleeced.

Irrespective of this train of thought and without waiting for the ongoing coalition negotiations, the cities and municipalities are now bringing further taxes into play. The Heilbronn voice writes today:

“The German Association of Towns and Municipalities has called for taxation of parcels from large online retailers. This is intended to raise money to finance the conversion of inner cities and town centers.”

Voice of Heilbronn (5.10.2021: 8)

If the towns and municipalities were actually concerned with the matter, they would be more likely to demand the corresponding taxes, and if they were also less populist, they would not only pick on certain groups - because they are not so popular with the citizens.

So it is to be feared that our administrations only want to collect new tax money in order to continue to fatten themselves with tasks, posts and staff - regardless of the respective situation in their own walls.

I am firmly convinced that it would be much better and also more profitable for everyone if our cities and communities finally stopped their useless advertising and marketing nonsense and allocated the appropriate personnel, material and, above all, the taxpayer's money in peace, order and cleanliness Municipalities use or invest.

Then companies, retailers and citizens would have an optimal environment to advertise for their city and themselves - without any tax money.
