Heilbronn cinemas
recumbent biker drew my attention to a “new” weblog today ("I'm in the process of building up a large archive on the history of the HNer cinemas..."). Curious as I am, I immediately looked it up and actually found the blog Heilbronn cinemas found.
As an old cineast this is a very nice surprise for me today and so I will certainly follow this blog and its further development; I also had a website in the past few years that dealt with cinema and, above all, with the films related to it.
At that time I must have had one of the largest collections of film quotes on the Internet. As a small relic of it, I have saved a few corresponding film quotes in this weblog in 2020. The blog post is titled “Plays of light“ — also a little reminder of past web appearances.
And until recently, this blog post was also the most read, with over 1 interested readers a year. In the meantime, however, most of the film quotes have probably been transferred to other websites, so that the number of hits has decreased significantly.

When it comes to a substantive argument with our right-wing extremist municipal council members, the other councilors keep a low profile and let even the worst gaffes of these krpto-Nazis get away with it. I've long since given up pointing out related crimes to our Democratic city councilors, because clearly nothing is happening.
And when it comes to bunny feasts or other social events, you can see all 40 councilors in complete harmony, because when it comes to celebrating, eating and drinking, they are all the same.
So it surprised me then, when the group of Albert Leo Schlageter admirers (some still remember, among other things, the Facebook post in which this faction commemorated the "heroic death of this super German" and thus made fun of all the dead and fallen in World War II) and the justified claim to a new distribution of posts and posts he lifted, that the remaining municipal councils opposed it in unison.
A sudden awakening and rebellion against enemies of democracy?! Not even close! It was and is only about one's own sinecure - and that's a better way to destroy our democracy than any Nazi or Communist.
At the end of last year, the responsible court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, which the mayor and municipal council completely ignored. Today we read in the Heilbronner Voice that, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior (former Heilbronn City Council) and a recommendation from the City Council (I would like to see it!), the city of Heilbronn is appealing against this court decision (Heilbronner Voice, February 03.02.2022rd, 26: XNUMX).
If the Lord Mayor and the municipal councils benefiting from the status quo take all legally possible steps, then those affected can keep their benefices until the next municipal council elections. But I doubt whether this is useful for our urban democracy - but that was obviously never the point for everyone involved!
Freie Wähler
The members of the Free Voters' Association Heilbronn met yesterday for their monthly information and discussion round. Moderated by the club chairman Christian Roth there was a very exciting fundamental discussion about the goals and principles of the Free Voters, which have existed for decades as groups of voters in the Federal Republic that are completely independent of the parties - my favorite sister also belongs to such a group of voters.
So it has long been a nuisance that other citizens use this name and go for votes as the "Party of Free Voters" — you can hardly do politics cheaper.
The really bad thing is that even many professional politicians and especially many journalists - not to mention our countless self-appointed experts - do not know the difference and therefore contribute to this false labeling becoming acceptable in Germany.
At least at the state level, the Free Voters have reacted and will have to respond to this challenge for better or for worse. Now I'm curious to see how the majority of free voters in Heilbronn and also in Baden-Württemberg will decide.
