volunteering

What does it have to do with voluntary work if you get paid for it or even earn your living with it? One also has to ask oneself why an administration wants to regulate and control the voluntary commitment of its citizens and finance it with their own money?

One can perhaps still understand it if the administration receives new posts and tasks that no longer have to be filled with administration-specific qualified personnel, and thus continues to expand itself. And this probably with the goal of all administrations, independent of their own community or country, to be able to lead a life of their own. — But that only works well as long as there are still citizens who can pay enough taxes.

It would be worse if it was about the well-known socialist model that wants to completely incapacitate the citizen in order to subsequently educate them to become better people. — As we all know, that doesn't work, growing trees out of gutters and making bananas a luxury item.

The crocodiles in our lakes have long since starved to death or died from heat stroke, so it's a good thing that you can now fully take care of "gendering" at the beginning of the holiday season. A good opportunity to bypass the citizen, en passant so to speak, to enforce an unnecessary thing that will make our language even more unspeakable and even more illegible.

It should be clear to everyone that since the last spelling reforms and the first language bans, even German scholars are hardly able to put down German that is still halfway adequate for productive communication — except perhaps for trash shows and political Talks, for which just such a language is necessary, among other things to distract from missing content.

So it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that those who depend on language are increasingly turning to English as the binding language - this also saves you from completely unnecessary battles with editors, proof readers or even self-proclaimed language experts, and also saves authors from being banned from writing .

administrative fee

I read the word "administrative fee" for the first time this morning and I'm already remembering it. I've met two like this before. A few years ago I was on a Saturday (!) vacation with my better half and two small children. We had already left the train and bus behind and were now at the gate in Tegel, once again much too early.

When boarding finally began, the friendly flight attendant told us that small children now also need their own passports — we Germans living in Szczecin had probably not noticed something about that.

In short, the plane flew on vacation without us. What now? Nice police officers on site — probably had to experience such situations more often — referred us to an authority in the city center.

With kith and kin in the next city bus and with a little help from the locals, we also found the said authority. After a short odyssey in the corridors of an imposing government building, we found the appropriate department. We entered the office, found exactly two administrative fairies there and shortly afterwards had two children's passes in our hands.

Back to the airport, but unfortunately there were no planes in the direction we wanted that day. So back on the bus with bag and baggage, then on the train and back to Poland.

Two days later we were finally able to fly on our well-deserved vacation, thanks to two administration fairies who acted faster and more successfully than everyone else involved in the matter.
