bookcases

For a few years there have also been public bookcases in Heilbronn, e.g. B. the one at the bulwark tower. I always like to check which books are currently available for reading. I borrowed one or two books myself, but also posted several of my own.

Probably due to the pandemic, I came up with the idea of marking the books that I post myself. The hope was to find them in another or in the same public bookcase. I assumed that these books, posted by citizens, circulate among the local readership and therefore have to appear again and again.

That's why I'm a bit surprised that I received such a book from an online retailer today; a corresponding description on the dealer's website already suggested it, now I have certainty.

No matter how well intentioned an initiative such as that of the public bookcases may be, there are always people who take advantage of any civic commitment and make good business out of it for themselves.

I will soon be putting the book I have bought for the second time in the bookcase again and I am already excited to see which antiquarian bookshop, bookstore or online retailer I will find it again.

wild garbage

That Heilbronn has long been one too carries around garbage problem, can now also be read in the voice of Heilbronn as a new insight determined by a district advisory board. Unfortunately, the city only proposes the following solution and only for a single dump:

"In order to improve the unfortunate waste situation in the short term, the city administration is now commissioning a service provider to remove uncontrolled deposits twice a week. The municipal security service (KOD) should also carry out checks as far as possible, with success being more of a coincidence.”

Voice of Heilbronn (29.06.2021: 26)

Since obviously more and more people from Heilbronn are getting used to it, including their dirt and garbage their needs to dispose of it publicly, the city administration should react and do so before it is too late! If necessary, one could B. demand kindergarten fees again or reduce other more unnecessary city services or administrative positions and for that, with more staff and effective controls, ensure that our city becomes clean and orderly again - this is also an advertising criterion and not a bad one at that.

district administrator

The election of the district administrator was already decided in the first ballot yesterday, one applicant had withdrawn at short notice and the mayor of Pfedelbach Torsten Kunkel received no vote. So the two candidates from the district decided the race among themselves; the winner from Neuenstadt, mayor Norbert Heuser, received 40 votes more than necessary and will become the new Heilbronn district administrator. After all, the mayor of Leingarten could Ralph Steinbrenner 33 votes unite.

Two questions remain unanswered, namely, firstly, why we only had men as candidates and secondly, why are there so many mayors on the district council?

site of the day

District of Heilbronn

Our district consists of 46 municipalities and has around 350 inhabitants. The district-free city of Heilbronn with around 000 inhabitants is surrounded by it. The district and the city of Heilbronn together with three other districts (Hohenlohe, Schwäbisch Hall and Main-Tauber) form the Heilbronn-Franconia region with a good 120 inhabitants. This would make it an ideal constituency for a lean and functional Bundestag.
