I've been helping out for a while now meseno and meanwhile the Fridays are established for me to do some homework supervision at the Meeting Point Plus and also to act as a reading mentor.

Today I was glad that my own knowledge of mathematics was just enough to be able to help the boys. Later we read something together in the Peanuts — the young fellows had chosen themselves in the city library — and we all got something out of it. Some stories just stand the test of time and are understood by every generation.

So today it was my great pleasure to hear a new story from Charlie Brown and get to know his team. In addition, I'm now a little more familiar with the geometry; If I remember correctly, it was a somewhat more enjoyable subject for me when I was at school. In any case, the new set squares are much better than our old ones.

K3

I don't mean Broad Peak, which used to be known as K3, but the northern entrance gate to Heilbronn's city center, which is increasingly developing into its own cultural forum. Few people from Heilbronn still know that Berliner Platz used to be there. In the meantime, you can only find the bear, but without the associated fountain. When I was a child, this was still the fun pool for all children in the northern inner city.

Slowly but surely, the conversion and expansion of the municipal library is becoming apparent, and we can all be very excited to see how it will continue to develop after the conversion. I'm really looking forward to being able to experience it myself.

The library will therefore be closed at the end of the summer. But first of all, on May 5th, 2022, the EUROPA-UNION will — the Europe Day of the Council of Europe — open an exhibition on the European competition there. This will then be on display there until May 28, 2022.

And if I look at the K3 like this, then the south exit on the first floor would be a wonderful place to set up a small coffee shop in the future city library — if only with a few machines and seating.

Even if it is certainly nice to have several fun pools around the corner, these subsidized companies must ultimately be financially viable. If it then happens that a fun pool is actually established nearby, which also makes a profit for the owner, then there should no longer be a question of whether you can continue to operate your own subsidized operation.

And so I welcome the realization of the Neckarsulm municipal council that the water park in Neckarsulm can no longer be afforded. Now I just hope they don't look for a "private" fun pool solution that will eventually force the city to keep paying huge grants again.

Even if everyone would like to have a fun pool in front of their own door, the market for it is limited and you will probably have to drive around 50 kilometers to get to a fun pool. When I was young it was the Solymar in Bad Mergentheim, which our family visited once or twice a year. And today's families are more likely to fall back on the bathing world in Sinsheim.

Much more important for everyone, on the other hand, are the sports pools, which should ensure that children are able to swim and are used by the rest of the population for sports and to stay healthy. These sports pools are part of every urban infrastructure and must be provided in sufficient numbers; here, without ifs and buts, all municipal councils should ensure the necessary subsidies.

By the way, the people of Neckarsulm have always liked to overdo themselves - probably because of Audi and Co. they are wrong in assuming that they have to or can compete with Heilbronn. I'm thinking, for example, of the ice-skating rink, which was history when they opened their own in Heilbronn.

So one can only advise the people of Neckarsulm, if they don't want to become a district of Heilbonn, to coordinate with Heilbronn before making major investments in their own infrastructure. This saves citizens a great deal of trouble and, above all, money that could certainly be invested more sensibly.
