It now seems to be confirmed that the governing parties in Baden-Württemberg have reached an agreement with the opposition and, contrary to the wishes of the majority of the population, a Monster Parliament This will initially cost 200 million euros more per year than it does now, and this does not even include additional infrastructure costs. We can therefore assume an additional 300 million euros per year. By way of comparison, the state has so far supported school authorities in the construction and renovation of school buildings with far less than 200 million euros per year. However, our state parliamentarians will not care if the schools fall into further disrepair, because their constantly growing salaries guarantee that their own children will be very well placed in private schools.

But things are not going well in the USA either, the New York mayor Eric adams was recently accused of corruption and a convicted criminal is running for president again for the Republican Party. In just five weeks we will know whether the world will get another chance. Should Kamala Harris fail, then even a Landtag XXL will no longer help us in the future.

Everything is so different right now, the Greens have finally realised that it is difficult to make politics without content and even when dancing the figures seem somehow strange to me. So I was no longer surprised that I recently received a print of Tim Burton which I gave away myself a few years ago. Even though I have not yet had the opportunity to buy “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice“, I looked at least once again at the Website of Tim Burton and looked to see if I could find the title of the print shown above - in vain, which again fits like a glove.

living will

The value of a living will correlates quite well with the capacity utilization and earning potential of a hospital. And unfortunately, that is not just my observation.

Only each individual can decide for themselves what constitutes a life worth living. And in a human society, such decisions should be accepted, especially if they are made to the best of one's knowledge and belief and have also been notarized.

It is bad when doctors put pressure on relatives. Not every relative is lucky enough to receive support from a hospital chaplain or to be able to call on a lawyer.

Difference

The Seneca I found a very nice distinction between Cynicism and Stoicism. To this day it is assumed that the former has strongly influenced the latter, and both directions are likely to have Socrates go back.

Diogenes and Seneca have already been discussed in the blog, although I Diogenes also mentioned in my first book. But now back to Seneca, who points out in his 29th letter (3rd book) that the Cynics tried to impose their truth on everyone, whereas the Stoics only tell the truth to those who want to hear it.

Nice too Senecas List of Greek schools of philosophy: Peripatetics, Academics, Stoics and Cynics. There is little to no written evidence of the latter - their fellow citizens must have remembered an ancient Egyptian tradition. Which might remind us once again that the truth (whatever that may be) does not get us very far.

But here too, Seneca some advice: “Only by being mean can you win the affection of mean people.” — advice that is currently very popular.

“The greater part of the truth is always hidden, in regions out of the reach of cynicism.”

  • Wise words from Seneca. Reminds me of “Qualis dominus talis est servus” – missing or wrong role models.
