Speeding cyclists

Good to know that I'm not the only one bothered by these bullies. I've been telling you about it for a long time, how these bullies, tolerated and motivated by the city administration, harass all pedestrians and especially endanger the weaker fellow citizens, sometimes life-threateningly.

Today made me recumbent biker to a corresponding letter to the editor in the Heilbronner Voice (16.08.2022/19/XNUMX: XNUMX) by Tilman Binder attentive, which I am very happy to quote here:

“Racing cyclists and scooter drivers
It's no longer nice to be walking on the Obere and Untere Neckarstrasse as a pedestrian. Reckless bike racers and scooters meander through the pedestrians, sometimes even hands-free. A new cycle path has been laid out on Badstraße. I wonder why this is not made mandatory and the Obere and Untere Neckarstrasse are only open to pedestrians. The waitresses at the various restaurants would certainly be very grateful. It is an impertinence for them to maneuver through the queues of cyclists with full trays. The sidewalks in Badstrasse are also constantly used by reckless cyclists, although the whole street is there for them. Who is surprised that there are more accidents?”

Red card

Today we can read in the Heilbronner Voice (26.08.2022: 26) that the CDU parliamentary group is threatening to veto in the future if cost and information management is not introduced in the administration. Now I'm amazed, because that's the be-all and end-all of every administration for at least 100 years!

Which encourages me again to call for minimum standards to be introduced for administrative staff in Heilbronn as well. As one can see better and better, just relatives or party membership are not enough to administer, let alone lead, a somewhat larger city today.

The quickest way to do this would be if we Heilbronn could afford proven experts as (lord) mayors and not just Festle-seaters or other supply cases from our three large municipal council groups.

Furthermore criticized Thomas Randecker the lack of support from the other groups and addresses the last double budget again. We remember that the CDU, together with the SPD and the Greens, smashed all sensible proposals from the municipal council, just to give the mayor a good one million euros in "campaign aid", which he then had pleasant Heilbronn clubs distribute to him.

So I hope that, according to Randecker, “[was] an exceptional situation at the time, especially since the administration had included all projects that were important to us in its budget at the time.” I also recommend all Heilbronn clubs and organizations to let this melt in their mouths again , because if these were not taken into account in the last double budget, contrary to all previous promises, then they are not important to the CDU parliamentary group — probably also the SPD and the Greens — at most as voting cattle in the upcoming municipal elections in 2024.

Therefore, the 2023 budget will have little meaning for most city councilors, the money and election gifts will only be distributed again in the next budget. And such behavior is indeed worth a red card; but this would have to be shown by the Heilbronn voters!

apocalypse

Yesterday the world came to an end for a dear person in our circle of acquaintances and this immediately had an impact on us, because our transport campaign, which had been planned for a long time, fell through.

This in turn meant that I had to reschedule my daily routine right after breakfast. At the end of the day I had a little more time to tinker with the Zettelkasten. Thanks again Detlef Sternwho helped me with that.

Otherwise, the day went on quite normally for me - probably until one day the world came to an end for me too - and this finally gave me a little to think about. Carpe Diem, somewhat older words that should nevertheless be called to mind again and again.

Nevertheless, or perhaps because of it, Samba was still on the program yesterday and — to my surprise — I can still remember the newly learned steps to some extent.

Life goes on, even if for those directly affected by a small apocalypse, the world is now turning a little differently. An experience most of us will have at some point.

Life and death belong together, like yin and yang. What we make of it ourselves is or remains the big secret. In any case, we should leave this world a little better than we found it — right now it looks like we're all really screwing it up.

Nevertheless, so close to our own end of the world, many of us will certainly want to draw a very personal conclusion - happy are those who can say in good conscience that they have satisfied more than their own basic needs, or not, who knows?
