Email from Giorgio Clarotti

Dear federalists, I will not have the time today to read all your thread but want to share what we achieved today: I took a day off and decided to give 3 days to #StandWIthUkraine in Brussels.

1. We demonstrated today [25.02.2022/100/14.15] with ~30 Ukrainians in front of NATO. When we arrived ~3 there was more press & police than demonstrators. The demo was well covered on BE TV: both RTBF and RTL showed a XNUMX″ clip. Radio was interested in sound bites. There were some independent bloggers. I shot a video and a picture which were asked for by XNUMX media, feel free to use it, Irina (the lady in the picture) gave her consent and they are copyleft.

2. Tomorrow [26.02.2022/14.30/XNUMX]. At XNUMX Invaded countries (Ukrainians, Georgian and Belarus) plus several European associations will demonstrate in front of Russia Embassy. The Brusseleers amonst you are welcome.

==> 3. But you can help for Sunday. Exclusion of Russia from SWIFT would face 40 million Russians with the consequences of Putin's Hubris. To our knowledge this is blocked by DE and IT, but also AT, CY and HU. It is unlikely that tonight's EcoFIn council would unblock this. So the idea is that citizen from these 5 countries petition and demonstrate in front of THEIR embassies. In Brussels, they would be joined from Ukrainians who will go from one embassy to the other.
Here the plans to be confirmed at 12.00 tomorrow
2 pm * Ambassade d'Austriche -> Av. de Cortenbergh 52, 1000 Bruxelles
3 pm * Ambassade d'Allemagne -> Rue Jacques de Lalaing 8/14, 1000 Bruxelles
4 pm * Ambassade d'Italie -> Rue Joseph II, n. 24, Bruxelles 1000

==> You are all invited to join if in Brussels on Sunday I will coordinate all and organize the IT demonstration.
==> Does anyone else want to organize the same in front of the washing machine in Berlin and of Palazzo Chigi in Rome plus in Vienna. I can ask Ukrainians to coordinate some presence there too.
Then, we need to plan for refugees like Poland is doing (they will welcome ALL refugees, whatever the number – see poster at border points).
Hope you can sleep tight tonight – Ukrainians won’t!

Bought victory

You could read time and again that some European politicians returned from their trips to the Russian sphere of influence with a suitcase full of money. Also that entire parties should receive financial aid from the Russian Federation. And until recently, some well-known politicians boasted that they were paid for their consulting services in former Soviet republics.

Less well known, on the other hand, is that many top European politicians were employed by the Putin regime after their active term in government. Just to name a few: Esko aho, Ernesto Ferlenghi, Christian Kern, Matteo Renzi last but not least Gerhard Schroeder.

We have to assume that this is only the tip of the iceberg and should therefore no longer be surprised that our European armed forces, as well as our countries as a whole, are not very defensible, because who wants to be rude to their own well-wishers?

It is therefore not surprising that our governments are now also having difficulties in imposing effective sanctions on the Russian Federation or even in supporting the fledgling Ukrainian democracy and its 40 million citizens.

Putin's investments will probably pay off, so we can only hope that "just" the 40 million Ukrainians were sold.

Weinstube Brown

Only recently did I have to Elimination of two Heilbronn restaurants complain, and once again a small institution is closing, namely the Weinstube Braun. According to the voice of Heilbronn (26.02.2022/34/XNUMX: XNUMX) there should even Theodor Heuss have already lost their quarter.

So my recommendation list gets better Heilbronn restaurants a little shorter at the moment and unfortunately I don't have the opportunity for newcomers at the moment.
