Ribbon

Even if the whole thing may sound very nice, namely that official documents are now being replaced with colorful ribbons - here in Heilbronn the vaccination card. So one should remember that we can afford one of the most expensive state and government apparatuses in the world, which exists and should actually be predestined to offer people-oriented and helpful solutions for us humans.

To put it a little more clearly, in the near future you will probably be able to replace your driver's license with additional wristbands or get through airport security faster.

As nice as all this may sound, and as good as these private initiatives may be, this thwarts state tasks and responsibilities.

Ultimately, however, it must be clarified in advance who is liable if misuse of such wristbands results in serious damage - perhaps even fatalities.

The polluter pays principle should be applied here, and in the event that recourse cannot be taken against them, then the appropriate initiators should definitely be used before we are all taken into “kinship custody” by private individuals.

lies & fraud

We have all recently experienced how lies and fraud have become the decisive career criteria in Germany, at least one becomes the Governing Mayor of Berlin or the German Foreign Minister. We have become so used to corrupt representatives of the people, not to forget the men, that our courts now seem to classify this as a national peculiarity.

The fact that we Germans encounter a lack of understanding from the rest of the world doesn't matter, because we haven't been able to build airports or run a tourist train on time for a long time.

Worse, however, is the signal we send to our own young people: you can lie and cheat as much as you like, you no longer have to perform well or be able to prove verifiable success, because as long as you have a party membership and belong to a quota group, with us one becomes everything - Germany as eternal Christmas, Easter and Cockaigne at the same time.

European regular's table

The last European regulars' table of the year was a virtual one again, at the request of the members. Unfortunately, their presence at the regulars' table left a little to be desired, which gave us those present the chance to hammer in new stakes for the future virtual European regulars' table. So we are e.g. B. Returned back to the GoToMeeting software.

We have also agreed that we will use those created at the beginning of the pandemic Forums of the Europastammtisch will close again and will not provide a replacement for it. Our conclusion: it was well intentioned and motivated one or the other to take part, but in the end it didn't bring the success that I, at least, had believed.

The same applies here, often less is more.
