arbitrariness

Arbitrariness is a direct result of incompetence. Michael Black (Heilbronner Voice, January 22.01.2022nd, 1: XNUMX) describes the whole thing very nicely today and calls it “manual errors”.

So we can all be very happy that the following still applies to us today: "Anyone who sets specific values for the entry into force of individual corona stages and then does not comply with their own specifications will find themselves in court."

Therefore, the competent court, ours Administrative Court in Mannheim, as has happened now - everything else would have been a further step towards the banana republic.

Ordnungsamt

The Werderstraße is not really characterized by the fact that you can organize street races there. On the contrary, during the last renovation it was converted into a traffic-calmed zone with its own unique charm. One of the reasons why we felt at home there after our return to Heilbronn.

Since Werderstraße is an insider tip for all commuters from outside, and now the residents of the new "Südpark residential area" — neither with a park nor with sufficient parking spaces of their own (!) — are fighting for parking spaces there, the entrance and passage are also designed increasingly difficult for us residents. And as soon as you have found a parking space yourself, you try to do your business on foot as long as possible.

And so it surprised me a little recently when I wanted to drive out of my exit and it was parked by the public order office. But I was even more surprised that our municipal employees set up a speed camera there.

I know Werderstrasse there quite well and I know that everyone - unless they are driving a truck or SUV - can expect damage to the underbody or even a broken axle at speeds of 30 kilometers per hour. But even an SUV will hardly be able to drive faster there, as it has to weave its way slowly and very carefully through the many illegally parked cars.

So, together with my better half, I watched the construction and adjustment work, then how the inspectors waited in vain for a while for the next street race, and finally dismantled their installation again without having achieved anything.

When the spook was over, I was able to leave my exit again and also count the illegal parkers parked directly there — a total of four cars. Walk up and down Werderstrasse once that day and our city would have become rich. There are probably other people responsible for this at the regulatory office.

Parking and traffic concept

When I hear or read something about concepts in Heilbronn, I have to suppress my laughter out of habit. And the much-praised lighting concept even brings tears to my eyes.

And so, at the beginning of the year, we can once again read something about a parking and traffic concept in the Heilbronner Voice (January 22.01.2022, 25: XNUMX), which we citizens have been demanding for decades; even the Local Agenda Heilbronn has taken up this topic, which should really make everyone aware of the urgency.

But if you absolutely don't want to implement something in Heilbronn, then you add the additional word "concept" to this annoyance and just carry on as before. In the best-case scenario, some company or consultant will then create what is sure to be a very cost-intensive “concept”, which will then disappear into some drawer or other.

And when we citizens remember that there was at least one concept for this permanent annoyance and express our anger a little more, then, yes, then someone responsible comes along again and promises us a new one Concept.

As can be read today in the Heilbronner Voice (January 22.01.2022, 25: XNUMX), "the municipal council ... in July [2021] Guidelines for the use of parking and street space were decided, which [the] administration [should] implement". Anyone who knows those involved will know that nothing sensible can come of it.

So it's already a ray of hope that Carsten Friese (Heilbronner Voice, January 22.01.2022, 23: XNUMX) Heilbronn reminds us: "Heilbronn is not the first city to tackle such a traffic solution. There are examples that have implemented interesting alternatives.”

Our problem is rather that those responsible prefer to sit things out rather than mess things up with someone. And the "important people in Heilbronn" are not really affected by this annoyance and don't shop in Heilbronn either.

So I would like to remind you again that we

  • have to reduce through traffic in the city center and expand Paula-Fuchs-Alle and build a new Kranenstraße,
  • turn Lohtorstrasse and Turmstrasse into pedestrian zones,
  • provide the Gerberstraße and the Lammgasse with further and also large-scale zebra crossings,
  • make the core city and its directly adjacent districts purely residential parking zones and
  • to direct commuters and visitors to the existing multi-storey car parks and other public car parks.

The fact that the streets in the city center are at least traffic-calmed was recognized decades ago by the people of Heilbronn and the majority of us have supported it again and again.

It is now really time for something to move accordingly!

  • On the subject of the parking and traffic concept / just my personal feeling:
I like being in Bella Italia and I enjoy spending afternoons and evenings in the outdoor area of a café or restaurant. Densely packed, nicely dressed and happy people stroll past the tables, often with shopping bags from the charming shops nearby. Young, pretty women meander through the heavy traffic on the Via on their Vespas. And me in the middle. A part of the whole. Life pulsates far into the night. And that too without a pedestrian zone. Or maybe even because of that?
Like I said, just my personal opinion
