Some will see this now-possible attempt as a small measure of justice. In any case, it gives us hope, hope for the positive impact and functions of democracy and the separation of powers.

If you are not at home in the judiciary or earning your living as a police officer or bailiff, then such a visit to the regional court is probably an exception for the ordinary citizen. I have been spared such visits as a private person and I only had to testify as a witness in murder or manslaughter trials for professional reasons, which by the way - even as a witness - is not subject to entertainment tax at all.

And so today I experienced my first court appearance, also not subject to amusement tax, in a very ugly "divorce matter" that everyone, no matter how nice of Barbara Salesch staged War of the Roses degraded to a mere farce on television. And quite fittingly, a very ordinary divorce was being negotiated in the next room.

I would also have been surprised that if they force me to go to court, it is a very trivial matter. And so today I first had to endure a terrible staging, whereby only the judges and our own lawyer are to be commended, because their patience and professionalism are admirable - they listen to even the most infamous lies without blushing or even losing their composure.

No, this time I was not on a private matter, but as a representative of the deceived side and this in a very dirty rose war. Just imagine, as a loyal and caring husband, you are being cheated and lied to, whereby the cheat finally not only files for divorce, a complete surprise for everyone, but also the good name in addition to the household effects and the common property of the betrayed husband claimed for himself.

You should just let people who want to go go and wish them all the luck in the world in the future. And so it would have been easy if the "cheater" had just left and started over under her own name. Personally, I would have added the household effects and the joint assets without any ifs or buts. Get rid of the bad memories! A fresh start for everyone and may everyone be happy.

But as it is, the only thing left for the deceived husband is his own good name — and it is precisely this good name that the deceiver wants to have — no matter what the means. The tragedy is that this fraudster knows very well that she can no longer win a flower pot with her own name in Heilbronn and therefore absolutely needs the name of her husband. And if she doesn't get this name - as was very plausibly explained in court today - then she will ensure that in future no one wants to have this disputed name, let alone use it. Dirty and greasy you can't have a war of roses! The really bad thing about it is that all the neighbors want to have known this in advance and now they really and happily gloat over the suffering and suffering of the "cuckolded husband".

And so I will probably also be in court in 2023 and have to continue doing this completely unnecessary staging - is there even a viable alternative?

In the meantime, the other side - and this probably doesn't surprise anyone from the neighbors either - suddenly has two "full" lawyers who obviously only want to cause the greatest possible damage. Of course, it can also be the case that a lawyer no longer dares to answer for “their own cause” in court.

Now I'm curious to see whether our lawyer and I will find ourselves facing dozens of opposing lawyers at the upcoming court hearing. In any case, only one opponent's lawyer would continue to chatter away, although the rest is probably just additional accessories in this production. My tip: we need a larger room and better lighting for TV cameras. And so long none Barbara Salesch suddenly appears in the courtroom, I still have hope that this War of the Roses will also come to an end.

All those fellow citizens who didn't have time today to get an idea of ​​the whole thing for themselves, I can confidently put them off until tomorrow or Saturday at the latest, because the Heilbronn voice was present with two journalists and will certainly also report.
