European regular's table

I don't think there's a better way to end an evening than with a European regulars' table and in a good restaurant. Even if I had to do without the excellent dessert after a very good piece of meat, I could still convince myself with my eyes and nose at my table neighbors that the chocolate souffle was again very successful.

Like the last European regulars' table before, this one was booked up to the last seat. As expected, the discussions were very diverse and very exciting right up to the end. Also used Herbert Burkhardt the opportunity to report the regulars from the city council and "his" faction. However, he did not find an answer as to why a parliamentary group must necessarily apply for a pensioner and then not even one with the same or at least similar political agenda as mayor.

Climate protection

Today we can read the leadership solution for the protection of our nature and environment in the voice of Heilbronn. Joe Biden put it in a nutshell: "May God save the planet."

"Help yourself, so God will help you!" is the Protestant view, and without wanting to enter into a discussion of "true religion," I would suggest that this would promise more success.

Unfortunately, however, it is the case that everyone involved in the world climate summit in Scotland only used it for the usual show and for empty promises. Our Chancellor can serve as a symbol of this — sixteen long years of doing nothing and still being celebrated for it.

China's president are more honest Xi Jinping and, believe it or not, Russia's head of state Vladimir Putin, who at least saved themselves the show running and thus protected our environment a little bit.

The conference is remembered in our world for two things. Boris Johnson once told the truth: "It's one minute to midnight on the doomsday clock" and a German Ursula von der Leyen, was able to stage itself again with hollow phrases and doing nothing. “This is our chance to make history. ... It is our duty to act.”

If everyone would sweep their own front door, the world would already be a little better. Unfortunately, however, our politicians will counter the increasing corresponding demands of our youth — those who have suffered from decades of doing nothing — by pointing out that the world climate cannot be saved in Germany.

I would have wished for such German modesty over the past 100 years!

Shrink

Since the 1970s at the latest, we have all known that our social model is built on sand, since it is based solely on growth. Getting the people needed for this growth from outside Germany is a viable alternative, as long as they want to contribute something positive to our society and, more importantly, are able to do so.

Unfortunately, our immigration policy failed right from the start, and in doing so we did more harm than good to our society. And even this unplanned immigration could not prevent our society from going further downhill.

Inevitably, since no viable solutions were desired, people have specialized in generating the necessary growth through overexploitation and gigantic bad investments, which, however, has exactly the opposite effect and further promotes social and economic decay. As has often been pointed out, this social model only works for those who will reach the end of their lives in the next 20 years and no longer have to witness, let alone suffer, the serious consequences of this egomania.

The madness is that these "gravedigger generations" can still be celebrated as the altruistic "economic miracle makers". The only thing they have finally achieved is to have gotten the most out of it for themselves and to leave the rubble behind for the following generations: educational desert, broken infrastructure, complete urban sprawl, destruction of nature, environmental pollution and last but not least a priceless supply state that has no borders knows more.

If we still want to turn the tide, at least for ourselves, then we must act immediately and open up our society to those who are smarter and more willing to work than all of us, while effectively denying entry to those who do not benefit our society bring. The problem will be whether top performers are still interested in becoming part of our society.

Therefore, it is inevitable that we finally start and move away from the growth premise once and for all. We urgently need to pool our remaining resources and focus all investments on viability and benefit for society as a whole. The term for this is downsizing.

In part, the power of the factual has already struck and we are shrinking, whether we want it or not. Hospitals can only be maintained in larger cities and universities can only find qualified teachers in metropolises. Specialist companies and schools will follow shortly.

It would be better for us to start and control or steer this shrinking so that, if we can hopefully still get the curve, we can offer our subsequent generations somewhat better conditions for continuing. A nature as we knew it ourselves will certainly no longer be among them.
