It's amazing what some local councilors think of their fellow citizens: "You shouldn't just worry about illegal parking and dog waste bags, but think about how the place can be upgraded."

There are quite a few people on the municipal council who at best have their own supervisory board posts in mind, without ever wanting to think about what could be improved in Heilbronn, let alone making a positive contribution or even helping out — ok, if it attracts the press, you can put a piece of paper in front of your feet to collect it.

Citizens have to remove human excrement from the streets, alleys and house entrances themselves, make sure that they can get out of their driveway and pick up bags of dog waste from the garden, and should now also think about creating new places to experience.

The Heilbronn local council could work to ensure that, for example: B. sufficient public toilets the cleanliness of our streets is improved, functioning traffic planning is guaranteed, including cycle paths that can be cycled on, and above all that the city administration ensures that rules are again observed in Heilbronn.

I am firmly convinced that we would already have a wonderful urban world of experience, which then also motivates citizens to add a few “icing on the cake”.

New Ideas

Yesterday we were once again able to read about many new ideas in the Heilbronn Voice. For example, it is suggested that all traffic light locations be checked to see whether a right-turn arrow is possible for drivers. This is particularly interesting because they had previously been quietly and secretly removed in Heilbronn, e.g. B. right around the corner from me on Südstrasse.

This has a similar quality to the considerable reduction in the police force, only to immediately demand more police officers for years. This is how you create popular topics that aren't really popular at all — in any case, politics becomes very, very convenient.

The demand for green arrows for cyclists in Heilbronn, on the other hand, should be a novelty. But this has a huge catch, because in Heilbronn there are no rules at all for cyclists. This means that such arrows are completely superfluous.

conversations

Yesterday I had the honor, meanwhile 5. Hertenstein Talks to be allowed to open again, which then questioned and explored four topics of conversation very intensively in a good ten hours.

Although the group of participants was not as large as in the previous three face-to-face events, it was highly qualified. This was an advantage because it was possible to illuminate this year's topics from all sides and to get into the depths of the actual topics.

After these again very demanding talks, all participants agreed that it was time well invested and that the upcoming 6th Hertenstein Talks on September 17, 2022 — then again in attendance — are definitely worth a trip to Heilbronn.

I was particularly pleased that almost the entire Heilbronn district board of the EUROPA-UNION took part in the discussion, and themselves Michael George Link MdB took the time to act again as moderator of one of the discussion groups despite the election campaign.

Constantine Kummerle, for the first time in the function as moderator at the Hertenstein Talks, presented very strongly and thus motivated the other moderators to also go all out — the overall result was an event for this reason alone, which will set standards for the discussion culture in the entire association.
