mandate

Especially in times when we citizens no longer have a chance to influence the number, payment and working methods of our representatives, a new control instrument must be introduced that counteracts the uncontrolled growth or even abuse of political offices.

This instrument could also be implemented very quickly and, in the medium to long term, will also lead to a change in behavior among our members of parliament and other political elected representatives.

The instrument is a time limit for mandates in which politicians are only allowed to sit in a parliament twice. And this must be handled explicitly so that professional politicians do not switch back and forth between the state parliaments, the Bundestag and the European Parliament.

With very few exceptions (e.g. small towns), other parliaments, such as district and district councils and municipal councils, must also be involved.

And this term limit must also apply to mayors, district administrators, prime ministers and federal chancellors, who should only be able to stand for re-election once.

Minister of Agriculture

If there's one thing our agriculture ministers haven't learned, or will never understand, it's this: if you produce more than the market needs, prices go down — except under socialism.

And if you then remove all production-limiting laws and hurdles at the expense of nature and society and constantly promote and heat up mass production, you shouldn't be surprised if the weaker farmers are left behind and the large corporations flourish.

As a result, our farmers as a whole are a group that likes to be ripped off and perceives the resulting frictional heat as human warmth from the respective minister.

defibrillators

Once again you can see that having ideas is much easier than implementing them successfully. In any case, I learned today that most pharmacies in Heilbronn are equipped with a defibrillator. And you can assume that the staff there are also familiar with it.

The problem with stationary defibrillators, however, is that hardly any people fall over in front of such a device. And if they fall over, then the search for one is absolutely suboptimal.

It is correct to start resuscitation measures immediately and to call the emergency services. If at the same time another citizen comes around the corner with a defibrillator that is stationary nearby and can handle the device, this is even better.

However, it is illusory and not practical (except for the manufacturers and defibrillator dealers) to have one available every 100 meters. No passer-by will run to the nearest doctor's office if someone falls over on the street.

In addition, you can see what our fellow citizens make of it by looking at the telephone boxes that are still there: firstly, they damage them so that they no longer work and secondly, they are then used to store rubbish. Why should vacant defibrillator sites fare any differently?

In addition, not only the acquisition costs, but also the maintenance are not to be paid, especially considering that more than 90% of these devices would only be there - just like they are already there in the pharmacies with mass only there.

Therefore I suggest that defibrillators be kept in stock in all pharmacies, in outdoor and indoor swimming pools, in the larger sports halls and in the police stations and that other “storage locations” that attract the public should be avoided.

Which does not have to stop companies and private individuals from hanging their own defibrillators on the walls, maintaining them and training their employees accordingly.

Ultimately, it always comes down to the fact that when one person is in distress, another is ready to help and inform the emergency services. It would be even better if the volunteer is trained in first aid; the first aid certificate, which you acquired together with your driver's license several years ago, no longer counts.

Unfortunately, however, we live in a time in which people hardly help others, nor do they empower themselves to be able to help others, but rather hang a defibrillator on every corner and, in an emergency, grab their mobile phone to post a great video on social media to post.

My conclusion is it would be much better for public toilet facilities to take care of, because these are urgently needed every day and can also be used properly by many fellow citizens.

And to reassure the defibrillator sellers a little, you could also equip the public toilets with defibrillators. My demand would then be that the staff on site be trained in their use and also in first aid.
