Space

The knowledge of Lyndon B. Johnson “Whoever rules the universe also rules the world” is really nothing new. What is new, however, is that the truce that had prevailed in space since 1990 and gave hope that humanity would explore the endless expanses together is now buried. China leaves no doubt that it is doing everything it can to dominate the world and, consequently, has discovered space for itself.

In the meantime, the West is being divided more and more often and even further, one could almost think that Russia and China - the representatives of a totalitarian world order - have bribed exactly the right people. In addition, he allows himself to be drawn more and more under the spell of conflicts between mostly insignificant states, countries and peripheral regions, reacts increasingly to the smallest threats from pocket dictators and completely forgets that it is the big challenges that have to be solved.

rice sack

Perhaps this focus on the essentials would also lead to the Palestinians, Taliban and Kim Jong-uns of this world recognizing that their problems are as important to humanity as a sack of rice bursting in China. With this self-knowledge, they might even be willing to look for constructive solutions.

lugging boxes

Suddenly everything happened very quickly, when I arrived there was already hustle and bustle, because Klaus' new family had arrived from the Ruhr area very early. So I only had to carry a few boxes until I had to realize that I'm not 50 anymore, so I hurriedly said goodbye to Klaus.

Over the years, I've really grown fond of this Saxon, and now he's moving on - not everyone is allowed to come to rest in Heilbronn.

  • So beautifully written! Farewell was too short, but the memories remain and the Ruhrpott is not out of the world, we'll be back, if only as a visitor, but with heart! It was difficult for me, but two lost hearts from Saxony meet again in the Ruhrpott via detours and remain united! Heinrich! I'll never forget you! You remain - like the time in Heilbronn - a part of my life!!!
