Actually, I'm not one of the more sensitive creatures and last year we were able to get through the winter quite well with a room temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. This year I lowered the room temperature to 18 degrees Celsius and I have to admit that I can definitely feel the one degree difference.

In addition, the man flu has gotten more of a grip on me than I would have liked, and both of these are probably causing me to start rethinking my decision. In any case, I have to say that here in Germany we really do live on the island of the blessed and think about "problems" that other people elsewhere in the world would only be happy to have — right now in the Ukraine 18 degrees Celsius should be considered pure be considered luxury; friends of ours moved away from Kyiv well over 20 years ago, because even in times of peace they hardly ever got their apartments heated above 14 degrees Celsius.

However, I am now realizing that I perceive the 18 degrees Celsius quite differently today, which years ago I would have considered at best sporty or even pleasantly fresh.

In any case, none of this would be an issue here if our professional politicians, who themselves are always well looked after, well looked after and well fed, had just done their very own tasks just once.

Today, the completely irresponsible thickening of our administration — and what one likes to ignore, its other outsourced “sub-administrations” and other departments — is rightly addressed in the Heilbronner Voice (15.12.2022: 25).

Thomas Zimmerman notes that "the apparatuses have been inflating more and more since 2010, intervening more and more in the everyday lives of citizens with regulations and laws and governing them, no matter what the cost.” Worse still, these completely bloated administrations usually only deal with themselves and each other and at most only care for their own well-being.

And so it is not surprising that precisely those who make a good living from these supply campaigns brand all justified criticism as pure populism. Other municipal councils, who are also responsible for this nonsense, publicly denounce this unrestrained and also completely useless waste of personnel and resources, but continue to and quite traditionally agree to every future job increase.

At least one could try to create the jobs where they are actually needed and where the new employees could also have an effect for the benefit of all. Unfortunately, however, the focus continues to be on supply posts, which then prevent other employees from their actual work in the administration in an advisory or even managerial capacity.

We can already observe the negative effects for all of us today, which at best will lead to consulting firms being hired at our expense or the Bundeswehr being abused once again.

When things get a little quieter for the two clubs for which I am responsible, which is definitely desirable and also completely normal during the Advent season, I now have a little more time to devote myself to other voluntary activities.

And at some point this year I actually lost a little focus and completely lost sight of my own office tidying up. But postponed is not canceled, and so I am already considering whether I should push the club bureaucracy, which I like to regularly update around the turn of the year, so far back this time that I can actually get it out of my head again own office can do.

Food waste

In 2020 alone, we Germans threw away around 11 million tons of food waste; In addition to leftover food and unsold food, this includes e.g. B. also non-edible components such as nut and fruit shells, stalks and leaves, coffee grounds or bones. In addition, there are further food losses along the production and food chain.

If we add to that the foods we eat without understanding them, which, by the way, ultimately ruins our healthcare system, then we can say with certainty that we Germans have a lot of people in this world on our conscience and without firing a single shot.
