Short poem
Who still knows him Angelus Silesius? In his work “Cherubinischer Wandersmann” published Johannes Scheffler Epigrams. For example, this one:
The rose is without reason, it blooms because it blooms,
Angelus Silesius
She does not care about herself, does not ask whether she is seen.
Selbst Martin Heidegger has dealt with this and even linked the whole thing to the Principium reddendae rationis. I see this more as a request to stop trying to further optimize my blog. In a nutshell, Angelus Silesius I would wholeheartedly reject any kind of SEO. And I shouldn't even ask myself why, let alone who, I'm writing my blog for.
Customs duties
The tariffs are bothering me more now than they were during Trump's first presidency. Apparently, there's a bit more substance behind them this time. While the intention of helping a few billionaires make even more money even faster is bad enough, the idea of using them to disrupt the entire global economic system is diabolical.
Joeri Schasfoort has published an interesting video on YouTube about this.
Ramp talk
Today, my ride on the meseno bus was a bit of a disaster. Traffic jams were unexplained, and in the end, more time was lost than planned.
This also left time to admire the driving skills of one or two drivers. When one driver maneuvered his car onto the neighboring ramp with millimeter precision and in one swift turn, I couldn't resist and remarked, "Skilled is skill." He replied: "No, just a rearview camera." [I still maneuver my trucks by ear, just like I learned in the German Army over 40 years ago.]
Shortly afterward, he, who had the same loadmaster as me, said: "If there's something I don't need, it's bad-tempered people." I replied that nine times out of ten I experienced this. He got into his truck and said succinctly: "I get him eleven times out of ten!" — Two to zero for my unknown colleague.
From another ramp, I was also able to admire a genuine large transport, which I captured in the photo above. Even without a valid additional certificate of competence, it struck me that this transport would not pass inspection—due to inadequate load securing.
I also took advantage of the leisurely drive through the north of our district to review my lecture for tomorrow; now that the deadlines and buffer times have been sorted out, I'll take a closer look at the costs.
My next trip today took me to Stuttgart. There I was able to spend a pleasant afternoon, attend a meeting, and even do some shopping. Finally, I received my last delivery order of the day: a pair of socks for Semin Bristina.
