Europe+
Tonight there will be the weekly European get-together again, which always has interesting topics and is usually very entertaining. But I'm really pleased that we already have around 20 registrations for our European barbecue on Saturday. At the reading at Europaplatz almost a week later, I'm looking forward to seeing whether there are just as many people interested in spiritual food.
Books
Despite the rainy weather, it was a very successful day. mine supervised students improve their reading skills noticeably and I get to read books that I would never have read in my life otherwise.
My translator gave me the draft for my book “We Are All Part of Europe!” sent, which will give me quite a bit to read over the next few days. And my book “EUROPA-UNION” is also making great strides.
Parking
The fact that people are now starting to think about parking in Heilbronn gives hope. Our city actually has very good parking garages and the number of parking spaces there should be sufficient, at least on normal days. For a long time now I have not been able to understand why people are circling the blocks with their cars right in the city center or neighborhoods close to the city center in search of free parking spaces. Or, because they only have to go somewhere for a short time, to park garages or driveways, not to mention sidewalks.
I find it completely incomprehensible how a visitor to the city library complains that she drove around for a good half hour just to take a parking space from a resident on Schäfergasse. I would have understood the argument that she can no longer park in the theater underground car park at her age and would have recommended her to switch to the multi-storey car park at the Bollwerksturm, which is less than 5 minutes' walk away. But the argument thrown out that the parking spaces are far too expensive is, especially in this case, an unbelievable milkmaid's bill.
Therefore, a general parking ban for commuters, visitors, strollers or shoppers in the extended city center would be a very good thing. And so residents with a parking permit are more likely to find a parking space for which they have to pay today. And I would also like to see such a parking ban in my neighborhood, because that would save all residents a lot of trouble, and also reduce the annoying honking of delivery and disposal vehicles struggling with a street crammed with commuter vehicles and cars from other streets to have.
