One would think that prime ministers, ministers, mayors and members of parliament would be able to afford their own vacation trips. But that's probably not what it's all about, it's all about business trips and company cars simply further underlining your own status. The former then has the advantage that you don't have to worry as much about your original tasks as a representative of the people and in Hollywood or Copenhagen you hardly run the risk of having to answer voters' questions on the street.
So it is no longer surprising that our state government travels through the USA in times of crisis and that some mayors of our county enjoy the benefits of Copenhagen. However, the reason for the trip to Copenhagen is a bit surprising: "Our mayors get suggestions there". New York would certainly have been far better for suggestions, but they probably didn't want to compete there with our state government for the best seats in the hippest restaurant in town.
And so we can already look forward to seeing where our people's representatives will soon enjoy — excuse me: “stimulate” —? And as soon as they are at home again, the next vacation is definitely coming up, because it would be a shame to let these days go by. The true pros bridge the whole thing with parental leave or an extended stay at a spa, at least until you can get new impressions in Rio or Tokyo.

We Germans have been supporting Russian wars of aggression and crimes since 2008 at the latest, without need of our own, and so it is only logical that now that it is becoming increasingly apparent that we ourselves are among those being attacked, we should at least help those Europeans who are open to it oppose Russian terror. And that includes granting asylum to Ukrainians who do not have the strength and determination to confront this most ruthless war machine.
The agitation against Ukrainians at demonstrations in Saxony is pathetic, and these actions come from those fellow citizens who themselves eke out their entire lives as "economic refugees" and thereby exclusively "live at our expense"! In this regard, we have to assume that the Russian Federation has already firmly established its fifth column throughout Europe and is now ready to activate it - this is what is currently called hybrid warfare.
Lecture
Yesterday I was allowed to give a lecture on European federalism in Balingen. Since I was there a bit too early, I got to know a nice pub with a very impressive Whiskey Offer know. That begs the question, why in Balingen?
As is well known, brevity is the spice and so I was able to start my journey home on the same day. My thanks go to the listeners of the evening, who were able to come up with a great deal of expertise themselves and will certainly ensure that the EUROPA-UNION will continue to be very successful in the Zollernalb district.
